About the Call for Innovators
The Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers in collaboration with the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO), World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), and United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is proud to host the 11th UNESCO African Engineering Week (AEW) and 9th Africa Engineering Conference (AEC) 2025 from 14th – 20th September 2025 in Kampala, Uganda.
We are pleased to invite innovators across Africa to participate in this prestigious continental gathering. This unique platform is open to seasoned engineers, researchers, artisans, and emerging talents from secondary schools, colleges, and universities, offering an opportunity to compete and showcase cutting-edge innovations that address Africa's most pressing development challenges.
The exhibition provides a platform to showcase your innovations to a diverse audience of engineering professionals, industry leaders, policymakers, and potential investors from across Africa and beyond.

Who Can Apply
The Innovation Exhibition is open to the following categories of participants
Secondary Schools
Students and Teachers from secondary schools (high schools) who can demonstrate highly innovative ways of applying science to solve community problems.
Tertiary Institutions
Students and Academicians from universities, colleges, and technical institutes who have developed innovative engineering solutions addressing real-world problems.
Industrialists
Practicing professionals, artisans, engineers, and researchers from the private sector or industry who have developed innovative engineering solutions or commercial products that solve real-world problems.

Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be sent by email to innovations@uipe-africanengineeringweek.org before 24th June 2025.
On submission of your innovation brief, kindly indicate the following:
- i.Name
- ii.Category
- iii.Topic/ Sub Theme
- iv.Profile, Picture and Role
- v.Innovation (3-5 minutes video)
Important Dates
- •Call opens for submission: April 27th
- •Call closes: June 24th
- •Review and selection of innovations: June 25th to 1st July
- •Selected innovators informed: July 5th
- •Deadline for confirmation of participation: July 20th
- •Physical and online sessions: July to September

Email Submission Process
- Prepare your innovation description according to the guidelines
- Gather photos, diagrams, and video (if available) of your innovation
- Include your team information and space requirements
- Use the subject line: "Innovation Submission - [Your Name/Team Name] - [Innovation Category]"
- You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of submission
