The Premier Engineering Event in Africa
The 11th UNESCO African Engineering Week and 9th Africa Engineering Conference are landmark events designed to elevate the role of engineering in solving Africa's greatest challenges. Since their inception, these events have been platforms for:
- Celebrating African engineering excellence
- Shaping policies that foster innovation and resilience
- Building capacity in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines
2025 Conference Theme
"Leveraging Engineering Innovations and Technology to Accelerate Africa's Socio–Economic Transformation."

Venue & Dates
The main conference will take place from September 14-20, 2025, at the prestigious Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda. Additionally, a specialized training on Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture will be held from September 8-12, 2025 as a precursor to the main event.
This world-class venue set along the serene shores of Lake Victoria offers state-of-the-art facilities including a plenary venue capable of seating up to 3,200 delegates, multiple breakaway rooms for parallel sessions, extensive exhibition space, and beautiful landscaped gardens for networking and innovation forums.

About the Host – UIPE
The Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) is the leading umbrella body for engineers in Uganda, established in 1972. It is legally mandated by the Engineers Registration Act and represents Uganda within the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO).
