Health & Safety Guidelines

Essential health and safety information for all conference attendees

Health and Hygiene Considerations

Participants should adhere to Uganda's entry requirements, including any necessary health documentation or testing protocols. Before traveling, consult a travel health clinic or your healthcare provider 4–6 weeks in advance to:

Pre-Travel Health Consultation (4-6 weeks before travel)

  • Get personalized recommendations
  • Update necessary boosters
  • Obtain prescriptions for antimalarials or other medications

Vaccinations and Precautions

Yellow Fever (Required Vaccination)

MANDATORY FOR ENTRY

Proof of Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for entry into Uganda for travellers aged 1 year and older. You must present a Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) upon arrival.

Malaria Precautions

No vaccine (yet), but antimalarial medication is strongly recommended.

  • Consult with your doctor on necessary prophylactic medications
  • Use insect repellent
  • Sleep under insecticide-treated nets
  • Consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice

On-Site Safety Protocols

Mask Usage

While not mandatory, wearing well-fitting masks is strongly recommended, especially in indoor settings or when physical distancing is challenging.

Hand Hygiene

Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the venue. Attendees are encouraged to sanitize hands regularly, particularly before and after sessions.

Medical Support and Emergency Response

On-Site Medical Team

A dedicated medical team will be present to address health concerns and manage any medical emergencies.

Communication and Compliance

Information Dissemination

Clear signage and regular announcements will inform attendees of health protocols and any updates.

Feedback Mechanism

Attendees can report concerns or non-compliance anonymously through a dedicated channel, ensuring prompt response and action.

Childcare Services

The conference is not designed for minors under the age of 18 to attend.

Minors must be supervised at all times (within arm's reach of the guardian).

If parents have infants who are still nursing, there are designated areas for breastfeeding and lactation rooms available.

There are private daycare centers located nearby. These services are not endorsed/vetted by the UIPE.

Private childcare caretakers are not permitted to provide services on-site at the Conference Venue.

If you intend to bring minors to any event at the Conference Venue, please notify the Conference organizers for special arrangements.
